Cool things for creatives around DFW

Cool things for creatives around DFW

There are always things going on in DFW that the creative individual and potential coworker might be interested in for one reason or another. As I’m a fan of the rule of three, here are three cool organizations – one established, one just launched, and one on its way up – that Dallas creatives might want to know about.

Social Media Club of Dallas – The Social Media Club of Dallas is a professional organization for exploring how Social media such as twitter, Facebook, linkedIn, and others affect the way we communicate with one another. They promote literacy, standards, and ethical behavior when it comes to social media practices, which are good fronts to choose in any such endeavour. Their next event is planned for February 18th when Aaron Strout of social media agency Powered will be speaking. Should be some very cool stuff.

Creatives in DFW – Creatives in DFW is a recently launched – as in Monday, Feb. 1 – website seeking to be a comprehensive resource for finding creative professionals in DFW. Got a project you need photographer for? Web designer looking to increase your exposure? This is a new resource that’s gaining buzz around town, and I encourage everyone to check it out.

Ignite Dallas – Ignite Dallas is part of the O’reilly ignite series. The premise is simple. Get a multitude of entrepreneurs, technologists, and people who just want to know in a room together watching presentations that last exactly five minutes and have exactly twenty slides which automatically advance every 15 seconds. Think you’ve got what it takes? They’re looking for speakers for their first ignite event, which will happen on Wednesday, March 3rd, at the Granada Theatre. Looks like it will be very cool.
